You may know that IBPS PO exams start in 5 months (October 2017). The actual eligibility details will be known once the official notification is out. However, based on previous year information, you can know the probable eligibility criteria.
Educational Qualification: The best thing about bank exams is the broad (easy) eligibility criteria. Unlike private sectors where the companies will call only selected streams, Banks are generous enough to invite applications from all graduates. Hence, if you are a graduate (or possess an equivalent recognized qualification), you can very well apply for these posts.
Age Criteria: First let us discuss the age criteria for general category and see the relaxations for reserved categories later.
If you are between 20 and 30 years of age and of general category, you are certainly eligible. Now its time to see various relaxations provided. For OBC category, the relaxation could be 3 years, for SC/ST 5 years and 10 years for disabled persons. There will be few other relaxations as well which you can know after the official notification.
As a point of note, we have provided the details based on previous year (IBPS PO 2016) data. We expect this year criteria to be more or less same. However, you have to read the official notification carefully once it is released on the official website.
We hope the above information will help you. All the very best!
IBPS Exams 2017 are beginning in 4-5 months from now (PO in Oct and RRB in Sep, tentatively). Prepare fast and well to make use of the big opportunity. All the best.
